Several North Central Kansas students will be honored during the 2024 Governor's Scholars Award Program on Sunday, May 5th at Washburn University in Topeka.  The Governor's Scholars Program has recognized outstanding graduating seniors who finished in the top one percent of their high school graduating class for the past 41 years.

2024 Governor's Scholars from North Central Kansas are:

  • Meleia Ingram from Bennington High School

  • Morgan Peters from Clay Center High School

  • Weston Girard from Clifton-Clyde High School

  • Ella Bottner from Concordia High School

  • Mason Knudsen from Glasco High School

  • Hayden Behrends from Hanover High School

  • Ethan Kennedy from Miltonvale High School

  • Shaan Bawa from Minneapolis High School

  • Camryn Reynolds from Republic County High School

  • Hannah Simmelink from Rock Hills High School

  • Jenna Gengler from St. John's High School-Beloit

  • Riley Still from Tescott High School

  • Gage Stewart from Tipton Catholic High School

  • Brian Draper from Wakefield High School

  • Sydney Jueneman from Washington County High School

The Governor's Scholars program honors the top academic one percent of Kansas high school seniors.  Scholars are selected from accredited public and private schools in the state.

This program is coordinated for the Governor by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force.  It is funded by donations from private sector businesses in Kansas.  The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force was formed 30 years ago to strengthen public confidence in education.  The following organizations are members of the Task Force:
