North Central Kansas Medical Center is excited to announce its 2024 Health Fair, scheduled for Saturday, October 19th, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the lower-level conference rooms. Vendors will again be participating, adding a dynamic and engaging element to the fair.

Ali Slate, Director of Organizational Development, shared her enthusiasm for this year's event: "We are thrilled to welcome back our vendors. Attendees can expect a variety of services, including flu shots and other immunizations provided by the Cloud County Health Department."

Health and wellness vendors interested in participating are encouraged to reserve a booth by October 1st by contacting Ali Slate at 785-243-1234.

Participants at the health fair will have access to several important lab screening tests, including:

  • $45 - Comprehensive Lab Panel:
    • Complete Blood Count (CBC): Evaluates white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets.
    • Complete Metabolic Profile (CMP): Assesses kidney function, dehydration, electrolyte balance, liver enzymes, and provides an overview of overall health.
    • Lipid Profile: Measures cholesterol levels, triglycerides, and lipoproteins to assess heart disease risk.
    • Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH): Evaluates thyroid function.
  • $20 - Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA): Early detection of prostate cancer and other prostate-related conditions.
  • $15 - Hemoglobin A1c: Monitors glucose control over a three-month period, crucial for diabetes management.
  • $40 - Vitamin D Level: Assesses vitamin D levels, important for bone health and calcium balance.

Melissa Cash, Director of Lab, reminds participants to fast prior to their lab work. "Please do not eat or drink for 10-12 hours before your lab test. Water and medications are allowed." Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria for participants after their lab is pulled.

Important Information:

  • Scheduling: Participants in the lab screening must schedule an appointment by calling 785-243-1234.
